New Brand Media Specialist Program Launched by Brand Media Coalition

This new training and certification program focuses specifically on the use of brands in any type of organizational engagement program, from business, event and imprinted gifting to rewards and recognition, to educate the marketplace on the importance of program design and the power of the new Brand Media.

A new course and exam specifically focused on the use of brands for incentives, recognition, rewards and business, event and imprinted gifts is now available at the Enterprise Engagement Academy. The free course and accompanying Brand Media Specialist certification is designed specifically for professionals who select brands for their reward, recognition, loyalty, business, event and imprinted gifting programs. Individuals who complete the certification can use the Brand Media Specialist logo on their business cards and websites and receive a membership number they can use to help validate their eligibility to wholesale pricing from the increasing number of transactional websites now available to authorized resellers and end-users. Other benefits will be announced shortly to anyone who registers at the Enterprise Engagement Academy from a qualified business, whether they complete the Brand Media Specialist program or not.

The new Brand Media Specialist training and certification program is sponsored by Bulova Corporate Gifts, Pulse Experiential Travel and Harco Incentives, which is offering the exam as a value add to its reseller partners on its channel partner portal at Harcoeea.tmlu.org. The course and exam specifically focus on the use of non-cash rewards and is meant to supplement the Incentive Marketing Association’s Incentive Professional (IP) and Recognition Professional International’s education and CRP certification programs. A Focus on the Power of Brands

“Years of industry research have proven that brands are in fact a medium whose careful selection can make a big difference in the emotional and communications value of a business and event gift or promotional product, or an incentive or loyalty reward for that matter,” explains Bruce Bolger, founder of the Enterprise Engagement Alliance that runs the Brand Media Coalition. “We believe this has been overlooked and there’s an enormous opportunity to expand the professional use of brands and retail gift cards as business, event and imprinted gifts, not to mention traditional incentive and recognition programs, through the application of basic brand media principles not unlike any other form of advertising media selection.”

The Brand Media Coalition has created the first ever Brand Media Guide specifically designed to help buyers select the right brands to tell their stories in gifting, promotions, rewards and recognition, as well as showcasing the organizations and expert solution-providers they can purchase from.  Professionals and companies that join the Brand Media Coalition are committed to the professional use and application of brands for organizational engagement and fundraising activities.

The Brand Media Specialist education and certification program is specifically designed for professionals at promotional products and related marketing services firms, as well as incentive representatives, rewards, recognition and loyalty companies that help clients select brands for use in programs for any type of organizational audience. “All of these professionals are in effect Brand Media Specialists who have the potential to help their clients curate far more effective business, event, imprinted, or reward options using brands,” says Bolger. “The Brand Media Specialist program is designed for reward and gifting solution-providers who wish to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.”

The Need for Quality Brand Distribution

While the potential for expanding distribution of brands creates a tremendous opportunity, it also carries significant risk that the Brand Media Coalition intends to head off, Bolger explains. “Most brands want to profit from the potential for significant growth in the use of brands in business, event and imprinted gifts, but they also don’t want to see their products ending up on eBay, trans-shipped to other countries, or being used as a promotion for an inappropriate business—a risk that grows whenever an organization adds potentially thousands of new salespeople. The Brand Media Specialist program provides a means for solution-providers to distinguish themselves as experts who understand the proper use of brands to qualify for wholesale pricing, for buyers to know they’re purchasing from legitimate knowledgeable sources and for master fulfillment companies and brands to verify they’re selling to legitimate solution-providers representing their brands for the acceptable purposes.”
