The Incentive Marketing Association joins leading associations and organizations in multiple areas of engagement and rewards to help practitioners and solution providers apply best practices in program design and the reward experience.
- Why the Incentive Practitioner Program Is Essential
- Earn the Incentive Practitioner Level in Galveston
Organizations seeking to implement best practices in incentive program design can take advantage of the Incentive Marketing Association’s Principles of Results-Based Incentive Program Design and Certification program at Engagement World’s Professional Development Days on Tuesday, May 8, from 1 pm-5 pm. This seminar is designed to equip program designers and solution providers with the expertise they need to develop successful, measurable programs.
Organizations can have their professionals trained in the fundamental issues of culture and leadership at Engagement World, May 7-9, at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort & Conference Center, on the city’s historic Seawall. Engagement World is designed for corporate practitioners and solution providers seeking to achieve organizational and tactical goals through a more systematic approach to engagement across the enterprise, as expressed in the new ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 10018 Quality People Management standards.

Bruce Bolger, Founder of the Enterprise Engagement Alliance, which co-sponsors Engagement World, believes this program is essential to corporate practitioners and solution providers. “The extensive science now available, along with the advent of ISO 9001 and ISO 10018 Quality People Management standards, demands that companies have serious expertise, and yet it appears that many are still making critical errors. Organizations in the U.S. spend tens of billions of dollars on programs that overlook best practices simply because the subject isn’t taught in schools or covered comprehensively in the general business media. The goal of Engagement World is to help organizations take advantage of all this expertise and research to maximize ROI.”
The Incentive Marketing Association’s Principles of Results-Based Incentive Program Design is designed to provide the fundamental elements of program design and implementation, and to prepare professionals for certification in these areas. The half-day program helps professionals to both prepare for the program and take the test to earn the Incentive Professional (IP) designation.
Earning the Incentive Professional (IP) designation is the first step toward becoming a Certified Professional of Incentive Management (CPIM). Individuals may earn their IP by registering for and successfully passing the IMA’s Principles of Results-Based Incentive Program Design examination. The exam consists of an array of multiple-choice and essay questions. While a candidate must have a current understanding of program design, the questions on the test are all part of the “Principles” study materials and the three-hour course being offered at Engagement World, followed by a test for earning the Incentive Practitioner designation.
The presenter is Barb Hendrickson, President of Visible Communication, which helps companies be more visible in their marketplace through effective marketing and communication strategies. She is the current Master Trainer of the “Principles” Course for the IMA and educates potential trainers. She is also the principal editor in charge of maintaining and updating the course curriculum. Hendrickson has worked in the incentive marketplace for over 25 years and is a CPIM and charter member of the IMA, as well as Past President. She has earned her Social Media Certification from Hootsuite Academy.
