In today’s world, it’s not enough to simply bring people to a destination, meeting, convention, or trade show. You need to create experiences that stick—moments that spark discovery, connection, and excitement. That’s where the Skavengerz engagement app comes in, according to its founders Nathan Alder, with a background in software and adventure travel, and Brandon Osmonda creative director.

Skavengerz aims to transform tourists, attendees, and participants into active explorers through custom gamified Quests and tasks. It is currently available for Apple and expects to have an Android version by spring. Any destination, hotel, conference center, event, association, can create Quests that tantalize people to discover various sites, booths, learning centers, or any location using gamification and the ability to earn coins redeemable for sponsored prizes.

From city streets and historic landmarks to convention centers and trade show floors, Skavengerz is designed to help showcase what makes a destination or event special and worth exploring. It’s engagement that blends fun, technology, and purpose into one seamless experience, the creators say.

Explains Alder, “Whether you’re a tourism board showcasing a city’s hidden gems, a trade show organizer driving booth traffic, or a conference planner fostering networking, Skavengerz makes it easy to: guide participants to unique destinations or event highlights; incentivize learning, exploration, or simply to show up, or to connect sponsors directly with attendees in a fun, trackable way. Think of it as Pokémon GO for grownups—with a purpose. Dine-arounds, road rallies, cultural tours, and sponsor activations all become interactive adventures that bring a location, theme, or brand to life.”

Adds Osmand, “the results are higher engagement. Attendees aren’t just watching; they’re participating. Every interaction is trackable, proving value. People leave talking about what they discovered, not what they missed. With each Quest, participants earn coins they can redeem for rewards, discounts, or sponsor perks—adding another layer of motivation and fun.”

Alder says that quests and tasks are quickly created and easily maintained. The service is being offered at charter pricing with a low monthly hosting rate and Quest setup cost. New Quests can be created by Skavengerz on demand, tailored for your destination, trade show, or event, they say.
